The Three Rs of Serving on Council – Video 1: Introduction

Thank you for your interest in running for Council.

The College Council is the 21-member governing body and Board of Directors that set the strategic and policy direction for the College. Council members regulate the professions of social work and social service work through our ongoing mandate to protect the public interest.

Under College bylaw, completion of required training is now a mandatory requirement for registrants of the College who wish to apply to be a prospective candidate for Council.

This five-part series will take you through the roles, responsibilities and requirements of elected members to Council.

Please note: Throughout the OCSWSSW’s website and documents, the term “member” and “registrant” are used interchangeably and synonymously as equivalent to the term “member” as used in the Social Work and Social Service Work Act, 1998, and the Regulations.
