Accessibility

Welcome to the OCSWSSW’s Accessibility webpage – your source of information on the College’s policies regarding the provision of our services to people with disabilities.

Accessibility for All Ontarians

The Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act became law on June 13, 2005. Under this legislation, the government of Ontario will develop mandatory accessibility standards that will identify, remove and prevent barriers for people with disabilities in the following areas: customer service, transportation, information and communications, built environment and employment.

The Customer Service Standard is the first standard to become a regulation. It came into force on January 1, 2008. The College is required to comply with this standard by January 1, 2012. This standard sets out requirements for the provision of accessible customer service and addresses: policies and procedures, training, service animals, support persons, customer feedback mechanisms, and service disruption notices.

Visit the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act for more information.
