2024 AMED

The Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (the College) will  be holding its Annual Meeting & Education Day (AMED) on Tuesday, June 4, 2024.

This year’s theme is Engage and Evolve: Collaborative Approaches to Care. The College is pleased to have Uppala Chandrasekera, MSW, RSW, as the keynote speaker. Her presentation, titled Unlocking Our Superpower: The Hidden Power of Social Work and Social Service Work, will discuss the pivotal role that social workers and social service workers play in dismantling systemic barriers, fostering inclusivity and in creating a more equitable society. There will also be four educational sessions throughout the day, on a range of topics.

The Annual Meeting, keynote address, and educational sessions will be hosted entirely online via a conference platform.

Participation and the CCP

College registrants can use their attendance at AMED, including their participation in any of the educational sessions, towards the completion of their Continuing Competence Program (CCP). The CCP ensures that social workers and social service workers are qualified, enhance their knowledge on an ongoing basis, and remain up to date in their practice throughout their careers.
