2024 AMED

The Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (the College) invites you to attend its virtual Annual Meeting and Education Day (AMED) on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. EST. 

This year’s theme is Engage and Evolve: Collaborative Approaches to Care. The College is pleased to have Uppala Chandrasekera, MSW, RSW, as the keynote speaker. Her presentation, titled Unlocking Our Superpower: The Hidden Power of Social Work and Social Service Work, will discuss the pivotal role that social workers and social service workers play in dismantling systemic barriers, fostering inclusivity and creating a more equitable society. There will also be four educational sessions throughout the day, on a range of topics.

What to Expect at AMED 2024

AMED will be livestreamed on the virtual portal on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, starting at 9 a.m. EST. Videos of all sessions will be available to watch on-demand immediately following the live event.

The AMED 2024 virtual portal will also allow you and other registrants to engage, interact, and participate during the live sessions.

Participation and the CCP

You can use your attendance at AMED, including your participation in any of the four educational sessions, towards the completion of your Continuing Competence Program (CCP). The CCP ensures that social workers and social service workers are qualified, enhance their knowledge on an ongoing basis, and remain up to date in their practice throughout their careers.
