Invitation to Share your Feedback: Land Acknowledgement Survey

The Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (the College) is in the process of reviewing and revising our land acknowledgement, in collaboration with members of the AndHumanity team (an external inclusive communications agency) and is inviting feedback on the current draft.

The College recognizes that we have a responsibility and role in truth and reconciliation. We are committed in making our communications more inclusive as well as building intentional partnerships with Indigenous communities. We understand that to do this we must first meaningfully engage in listening and learning, and we are committed to the ever-evolving journey of the inclusion process.

Our goal is to ensure that revisions are informed by individuals with relevant lived experience. We are committed to an inclusive process that amplifies Indigenous perspectives and voices.

For this reason, we are inviting individuals who self-identify as Indigenous to review our current land acknowledgement. We acknowledge that we do not know how you identify, whether you feel connected to an Indigenous community(ies) and/or this work. We also welcome you to share the below survey link and information with your Indigenous colleagues and contacts.

This survey is one of a two-part approach to revise our land acknowledgement. AndHumanity will also be conducting qualitative one-on-one interviews to invite feedback and inform the revision. AndHumanity is consulting throughout the process and, specifically, will be consolidating all feedback shared into anonymized aggregated insights, themes and tangible recommendations for review by the College.

We invite you to please consider sharing your feedback via this anonymous survey: https://forms.gle/uA91mvAQQjbUd47N7. The survey link can be accessed until February 23, 2024.

If at any time you have curiosities, questions and/or need support accessing this survey, please feel free to reach out to Chantelle Buffie at chantelle@andhumanity.ca
