Professional Practice Update: Educational Forum Video Now Online and 2022 CCP Reminder

The Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (the College) is sharing the following information and resources to support your practice.

Educational Forum Video Now Available Online!

The College held its virtual Educational Forum on October 19, 2022. This year’s Forum featured an update from College Registrar and CEO Lise Betteridge, MSW, RSW, and a thought-provoking keynote address entitled The Journey to Unity: Disrupting Racism and Decolonizing Child Welfare, presented by Sherrie Moore, MSW, RSW, Service Director, Family and Children’s Services Niagara, and Elizabeth Sault, Indigenous Healing and Wellness Program Coordinator & Indigenous Advocate.

You can now watch the video of the Forum on the College website and YouTube channel.

Viewing the recording of the Educational Forum can be used as a learning activity towards your 2022 Continuing Competence Program (CCP).

For more information on the Educational Forum, please contact the College’s Communications Department at communications@ocswssw.org.

This includes those who are not currently practising, in the inactive class of certificate of registration, on maternity, parental or sick leave, or who registered late this year. Registrants can be suspended if they do not complete the CCP.

As part of the 2022 CCP, registrants are required to review – along with the Standards of Practice – the following practice resources:

Visit the College website for more information on how to complete the CCP and for examples of learning activities.
