Governance Committee

Chair: Chisanga Chekwe, Public Member

The mandate of the Governance Committee is to:

  • Develop, maintain and review governance policies and procedures;
  • Develop and review annually a Council Member Profile for each election of Council members;
  • Make recommendations to Council regarding governance policies and procedures and changes thereto; and
  • Perform other duties determined by Council.

In 2025, the Governance Committee:

  • Reviewed the development and progress of Parts I and II of the Governance Manual and recommended it be approved by Council.
  • Supported the College’s bylaw review and modernization.
  • Reviewed and refined the Council Member Profile and Screening Policies for Council Candidates.
