The Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (the College) is working with the consulting firm Rigor as part of a comprehensive review of its Continuing Competence Program (CCP).
The goal of this project is to better understand how registrants practise across diverse settings and sectors, identify emerging practice contexts and variations in scope, and ensure that the CCP remains current, supportive, effective and responsive.
The CCP has traditionally been based on an adult learning model – one in which registrants sustain competence through ongoing reflection, learning and attention to their professional development needs, while the College sets expectations, provides guidance and supports. This review is examining how that approach can be strengthened and better aligned with current practice realities.
Registrants are now invited to complete the CCP Survey. The survey asks about experience with the current CCP, changing practice realities, and the kinds of supports, tools, and guidance that would make the program more practical, effective, and responsive across different contexts.
The survey will be open until May 17, 2026.
Complete the survey now.
This project will not affect the 2026 CCP. Registrants will be required to complete their 2026 CCP as usual. For more information on the 2026 CCP, please visit the College website.
Registrant feedback is critical to this project, and completion of the survey can be used as a learning activity as part of the 2026 CCP.
We also thank registrants who have already shared feedback through the Open Input Form. That input has helped shape this survey and the next stage of the review. As this survey serves a different purpose, we encourage all registrants to participate.
