Comprehensive Review of the Continuing Competence Program is Underway: Provide Your Feedback

The Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (the College) is collaborating with the consulting firm Rigor as part of a comprehensive review of its Continuing Competence Program (CCP).

The goal of this project is to develop a clearer understanding of how registrants practise across diverse settings and sectors, identify emerging practices and variations in scope and ensure that the CCP remains current, supportive and effective. The research phase of the project will run through July 2026.

This project will not have any impact on the 2026 CCP. Registrants will be required to complete their 2026 CCP as usual. For more information on the 2026 CCP, visit the College website.

Rigor is a research and consulting firm with expertise in professional self-regulation, quality assurance and professional competence research. The Rigor team will work closely with registrants to build the evidence base needed to inform this review.

In the coming months, registrants will be invited to share their feedback through a survey. Registrant feedback is critical for this project and completion of the survey can be a learning activity that registrants can use as part of the 2026 CCP.

As part of this work, registrants and engagement groups are invited to connect with the Rigor research team throughout the project via the Open Input FormInformation shared through this form is confidential. It will be reviewed by Rigor researchers and shared with the College in aggregate only.
