College Office Closure for National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

The Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (the College) will be closed on Tuesday, September 30th in observance of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

National Day for Truth and Reconciliation serves as an important opportunity for Canadians to reflect on the country’s history, honour the children lost to the residential “school” system and recognize the strength and resilience of survivors, their families and their communities.

As part of our commitment to First Nations, Inuit and Métis Peoples, the College encourages everyone to explore the following resources:

Resources to support social workers and social service workers in serving Indigenous clients and communities are available on our website in the Resource Room in the “Practice Resources” section.

A 24-hour Indian Residential Schools Crisis Line is available to support survivors and others affected by the residential school system. Emotional and crisis referral services can be accessed by calling: 1-800-721-0066.
