Call for Applications: Participate on the ASWB Standard Setting Panel

The Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers is sharing the following message on behalf of the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB).

ASWB is the nonprofit organization that develops and administers social work licensing exams across Canada and the United States. It is currently seeking registered social workers to participate in an upcoming Standard Setting Panel to help shape the future of social work licensing exams. This is a unique opportunity for social workers to contribute their knowledge, perspectives, and expertise to a process that directly impacts the profession.

The panel will review exam questions and make recommendations about the passing score for the exams. ASWB is seeking a diverse group of social workers with various levels of experience and from different practice settings to ensure broad representation.

Panel members will:

  • Travel to Reston, Virginia for an in-person workshop in late January 2026
  • Have all travel expenses covered by the ASWB
  • Receive a stipend for participating

To participate, you must:

  • Be a registered/licensed social worker in Canada or the U.S.
  • Have at least two years of post-degree experience in social work practice
  • NOT be involved in exam preparation activities (e.g., teaching a test prep course)
