College Update: Council Election Results & no Increase to Registration and Renewal Fees for 2026

The Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (the College) is pleased to provide you with the following updates:

  • Council election results for Electoral Districts No. 1, 2 and 5
  • No increase to registration and renewal fees for 2026

2025 Council election results for Electoral Districts No. 1, 2, and 5

On Friday, May 30, 2025, the College held its Council elections in Electoral Districts No. 1, 2, and 5. The Elections Committee has now declared the following candidates elected to serve on the College Council for a three-year term, beginning September 2025.

Election results

Electoral District No. 1:
The following registrants of the College are the candidates who received the greatest number of votes in Electoral District No. 1:

  • Marinna Read, RSW
  • Mandi Olson, RSSW

Electoral District No. 2:
The following registrants of the College are the candidates who received the greatest number of votes in Electoral District No. 2:

  • Geneviève Côté, RSW
  • Suzanne Oliver, RSSW

Electoral District No. 5:
The following registrants of the College are the candidates who received the greatest number of votes or were acclaimed in Electoral District No. 5:

  • Candice Snake, RSW
  • Bianca Lenarduzzi, RSSW (acclaimed)

The College thanks all registrants who stood for election and congratulates those who were elected in each district.

Role of Council members

Council members provide direction to the College and its staff in fulfilling its mandate to protect the public interest. This includes:

  • Developing policies to regulate the practice of social work and social service work which reflect the College’s public protection mandate.
  • Governing the affairs of the College.
  • Attending and participating in Council meetings and statutory committees.

No increase to registration and renewal fees for 2026

During its meeting on June 4, College Council approved the recommendation of the Finance and Audit Committee that there be no increase to the registration and renewal fees in 2026. In making this decision, Council carefully considered the College’s operating costs and resource needs.

2026 Registration and Renewal Fees

  • General Class of Registration: $400
  • Electronic Practice: $50
  • Inactive Class of Registration: $200
  • Retired Class of Registration: $50

All College registrants in good standing, including those holding a certificate of registration in the retired and inactive classes, are required to renew their certificate every year, on or before December 31st
