At the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (the College), we continue to advance our shared goal of public protection through accountability, innovation and meaningful collaboration with employers.
We are pleased to share the release of the College’s 2024 Annual Report, A New Era: Advancing Innovation and Public Protection. This report reflects key highlights from the past year, including our continued efforts to uphold core regulatory values and build trust with the public, the professions and engagement groups like you.
We continue to support employers through accessible, relevant resources. The College has two new professional practice resources, including the latest Practice Notes on practisting within scope and the Perspective article which features the important work of the International Crisis Response Association. We encourage you to share these with your employees and networks.
Public protection is a shared responsibility – one that is rooted in trust, accountability and care. As employers, you play an essential role in upholding these values. We encourage you to use the College’s Online Register to confirm that individuals you hire for social work and social service work roles are registered and in good standing. This simple but important step helps support client access to care from qualified, ethical and accountable professionals. Thank you for your continued partnership and commitment to supporting safe, ethical and high-quality practice across the province.
Sincerely,
Denitha Breau, RN, MSN, MBA
