The mandate of the Governance Committee is to:
- Develop, maintain and review governance policies and procedures;
- Develop and review annually a Council Member Profile for each election of Council members;
- Make recommendations to Council regarding governance policies and procedures and changes thereto; and
- Perform other duties determined by Council.
In 2024, the Governance Committee:
- Contributed to the College’s 2024-2029 Strategic Plan and participated in the selection of consultants to help develop the Plan.
- Took a leadership role in implementing recommendations from the governance review, including the initiation of a brand-new governance manual.
- Initiated a comprehensive bylaw review to align with the governance policy updates.
