List of Social Service Work Programs

The following is a list of approved social service work programs currently offered in Ontario. Generally, graduates who have obtained a diploma in social service work from these programs will meet the education requirement for registration as a social service worker with the College:

In addition, the following past and current programs have been approved as equivalent to a social service work program offered in Ontario at a college of applied arts and technology:

  • Collège Universel, Gatineau, Quebec – Techniques de travail social Program
  • Centennial College of Applied Arts and Technology – Addiction and Mental Health Worker Program
  • Confederation College – Onajigawin Indigenous Services (formerly Native Child and Family Services Program)
  • Durham College of Applied Arts and Technology – Human Services Counsellor (no longer offered)
  • George Brown College of Applied Arts and Technology – Community Worker Program
  • George Brown College of Applied Arts and Technology – Human Service Counsellor (no longer offered)
  • MacEwan University (formerly Grant MacEwan College), Edmonton, Alberta – Social Work Diploma
  • Northern College of Applied Arts and Technology – Addiction and Mental Health Worker Program
  • Sheridan College of Applied Arts and Technology – Community Worker – Outreach and Development (no longer offered)

Note: As indicated above, a number of these programs are no longer offered. To confirm if a program is still offered, please refer to the academic institution’s website.

Please note: Programs from career colleges do not meet the education requirements for registration as a social service worker with the College.
