Registrants can now renew their registration with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (the College) for 2026. As part of the renewal, you will be asked to provide confirmation of your participation in the Continuing Competence Program (CCP) for 2025.
The deadline to complete your 2026 renewal and payment is December 31, 2025. Registrants who do not renew by the deadline risk having their certificate of registration suspended for non-payment of fees.
New registrants who were issued a certificate of registration at any time in 2025 are also required to complete their 2026 renewal and provide confirmation of participation in the CCP for 2025. Renewals are based on the calendar year, and not the date of initial registration.
If you do not intend to renew your registration for 2026, submit your notice of resignation in the Online Portal. Click on “Request Status Change” under your profile name.
REQUEST STATUS CHANGE
You can request a change in your class of certificate of registration (to retired, inactive or return to the general class) in the Online Portal. Click on “Request Status Change” under your profile name. Note: You are still required to renew your registration even if you move into a new class of registration.
PARTICIPATE IN THE EQUITY AND INCLUSION DATA INITIATIVE
When completing your renewal, registrants have the opportunity to contribute to the College’s inclusion journey by participating in the Equity and Inclusion Data Initiative. This initiative invites registrants to share demographic information on a voluntary basis and is based on the fundamental principle that only what is measured can be effectively understood and improved. The College experiences a high volume of emails and calls during December. If you have questions about your renewal, we encourage you to contact us as early as possible to ensure that there is enough time for us to respond before the renewal deadline.
