Professional Practice Updates: SWSSWPDF and 2017 CCP

The College has important updates for members regarding the Social Workers and Social Service Workers Professional Development Fund (SWSSWPDF) and the Continuing Competence Program (CCP).

Extension of the SWSSWPDF
The Honourable Helena Jaczek , Minister of Community and Social Services, has recently announced her decision to extend the Social Workers and Social Service Workers Professional Development Fund (SWSSWPDF) for a further two years.

The SWSSWPDF helps ensure that members of the College have access to professional development opportunities which assist them in remaining current in their practice and in completing the College’s Continuing Competence Program. In these ways, the SWSSWPDF provides further assurance to Ontarians that they will receive services from professional, ethical, qualified and accountable social workers and social service workers. The College would like to thank the Minister for her continued support.

Reminder: Complete Your CCP Documents
The annual renewal of registration, which includes a requirement that you complete the Declaration of Participation in the Continuing Competence Program, is approaching.

If you haven’t done so already, now is the time to complete your CCP documents to ensure that you’re meeting this important professional obligation.

Remember: CCP participation is a condition of registration and part of your 2018 renewal of registration. Members are required to participate in the CCP, regardless of employment status or when they first registered with the College.

The CCP is self-directed: a wide variety of learning activities can count toward fulfilling your learning goals.
