District 4 Election Reminder
On May 25, 2006, the College will hold an election in Electoral District 4 which is composed of the geographic area within the territorial boundaries of the Regional Municipalities of Halton, Niagara and Waterloo, the Counties of Brant, Dufferin, Wellington, Haldimand and Norfolk and the City of Hamilton.
Two social workers will be elected to sit on the College Council for a period of three years. Voting packages have been mailed to all members in District 4 and include detailed biographies of the candidates as well as voting information. All ballots must be received at the College no later than 5 p.m. on Thursday, May 25. Two social service workers from District 4 have been acclaimed to sit on the Council for a further three-year term. They are Roman Delicart, RSSW and Sue-Ellen Merritt, RSSW.
Last year's election in District 3 returned 760 ballots out of the 4,500 that were distributed to eligible voters. This is a 17% return and we hope to see increased numbers for the 2006 election. To find out if you're eligible to vote in the District 4 election, please visit http://www.ocswssw.org/sections/council_info/electionprocess.html.
