The OCSWSSW was established in 2000 and is a professional regulatory body established under the Social Work and Social Service Work Act, 1998. The College is accountable to the Minister of Community and Social Services and its primary mandate is the protection of the public with regard to the delivery of social work and social service work services. It is the responsibility of the College to regulate social work and social service work practice and to govern its members in accordance with the Act, Regulations and bylaws. The College currently has over 13,000 members.

Professional Practice Associate
Reporting to the Director of Professional Practice, the Professional Practice Associate will respond to practice inquiries primarily via telephone, provide primary support to members with regard to the Continuing Competence Program, present on behalf of the College to various stakeholders, and contribute to research and the preparation of written responses on behalf of the College. He or she will contribute to the development and interpretation of the College’s standards of practice and code of ethics and to ongoing practice and policy development in these areas.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a Master of Social Work or graduate degree, at least 8-10 years of progressive clinical and educational experience, superior verbal, written and analytical skills, and membership in the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. This position is based in Toronto at the College office.
